Hi comic fans, hope you are well. Baz was delayed by his employers, so Amber won’t be posted tonight. So, here is another look at page three of Lion Rampant. Not much really to add to previous commentary. Again, this was written as a short story. It is wordy, and realistically could be done in one or two panels on a larger page with just a little bit of monologue to tell the story. Have another look anyway, it’s still good stuff.

Hi comic fans. Hope you have been enjoying my analysis of Lion Rampant and the first page of Amber (and if not, shame on you!). Soon enough, I will post a blog about our process in order that we can share our wisdom to other potential writers so they can learn by our process, or at least have a second point of view. But, not tonight. I am just going to share something I found on the internet. I found out what Tony Stark has been up to lately. Turns out he has been playing with the soft rock band, Toto.
Guy, all in black, sings the chorus. You might dispute me, but there is a bit in the video where if you watch closely you’ll see the ARC reactor. Don’t believe me?
Ok, maybe I took a screen capture from YouTube (Band member Bobby Kimball – awesome song, dude), and then a promo shot from ‘Avengers Assemble’ (Awesome film, dudes) and photo shopped it. But I did it for you.

If you are like me, you have probably been waiting for quite a while to watch Dark Knight Rises. I went to see it on opening day, after having went to University to ask for money to finance my publishing company idea. Nothing to do with comics, but thought I would mention that I am completely shameless when asking for money for my personal projects.
So, the question is, was it worth the wait?
For the most part, yes it was. The film had many good points to it, and it was an enjoyable watch. That being said, I went to the movies with my eyes open. I had seen the trailer and was not sure if I was going to like the film, and if it hadn’t been Batman, I might not have went to see it. The trailer looked more like a standard action film with a couple of shots of Batman and Bane in it.
Basically, I lowered my expectations a bit more than when I went to see Batman Begins or Dark Knight. With expectations lowered, I enjoyed the film.
Here are its good points:
The villain, Bane, was good.
There were some very nice tie ins to previous films, including a reprisal of Dr Crane aka the Scarecrow.
The plot surrounding the villains was well done.
The representation of Bruce Wayne with all of his various injuries.
The representation of Batman on his return to crimefighting after an 8 year absence
There was one major thing I wasn’t keen on. There wasn’t much Batman, in a film that is nearly three hours long. And when he is in it, I wanted it to last longer as it felt rushed. Don’t get me wrong, it was very enjoyable, but it could have been any film. Its worth seeing, but the first one is still the best.
